Do you have a skill or knowledge which you would enjoy passing onto other adult learners?
Do you have a relevant adult teaching qualification or would you be prepared to achieve this in your first year of teaching?
Are you enthusiastic, motivated and enjoy helping others progress through learning?
Can you organise your own workload, contribute to curriculum meetings and maintain accurate records?
Would you like to work within an organisation which offers continuing professional development and the opportunity to get involved in special events and wider learning activities with tutors of other subjects?
If the answer is yes, then Plymouth Adult and Community Learning are recruiting tutors for their new programme starting in September 2008. We need tutors in popular established areas like computing, arts and Skills for Life, as well as new subjects like History of the Ancients, Belly Dancing, Sugarcraft, Interior Design and Russian to name but a few!
Applications need to be made via Plymouth City Council’s main website where you can find further details of the general requirements and the list of specific subjects on offer. We are particularly interested in applicants who could cover a number of short or one off courses in a particular area such as crafts cooking or art – the new year’s brochure is currently being prepared and availability and working hours would be negotiated at interview.
You can read the full details on the PCC recruitment pages, make an online application or request a pack by going to
www.plymouth.gov.uk and looking at the ‘council jobs’ page.
If you have any questions about the programmes or working as a tutor for Adult and Community Learning call our central office on 01752 660713 and ask for Heather Morris, Ian Fleming or Miguel Silva.
September Courses We are currently adding our new courses for the next academic year to the website, so please bear with us while we are inputting. The new Plymouth on Course brochure will be available in mid July. |
